Since yesterday was Veterans Day we wanted to reflect on it a little. There are about 21 million veterans living in the United States right now. A little over a million of them are survivors of World War II. Right after WWII, there were about 26 million veteran survivors. Over the sixty years since the end of Second World War, almost 25 million of them have died. These soldiers of the ‘greatest generation’ are now quite elderly and soon, they will all be just a memory. Veterans Day will keep them alive in our hearts and minds, just like it will for all the veterans. The origins of Veterans Day goes back to World War I, when the official cessation of hostilities between the Allies and Germany ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, so that November 11, 1918 is considered to be the end of the “Great War.” President Wilson, in 1919 declared November 11th, “Armistice Day”.

Here
at PVMS, we appreciate the sacrifices that veterans and their families have
made for our country. We strive to hire
veterans and support them in any other way that we can. We stand with other businesses that
recognize the sacrifice veterans have made for us. It is our honor to help them transition back to civilian life in
our small way. Thank you to all the people who have severed and are serving.
